Im a 25 year old girl/woman/lady who sunk her teeth into the arts of photography in early 2003. I had always hated cameras before, in fact, I feared them. I always came out looking like a complete dork on photos. I had my birthday coming up, and I decided, well, if I look like a dork, that must simply mean the photographer wasn't skilled enough to catch my essence. I bought my own camera, and started laborating. It was a cheap and pretty bad camera, it held together for a year, and when it crashed and burned, I just had to get a "real" camera. With the help of my wonderful and loving family I was able to get me a Canon EOS300D. And that is what I still use to date.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a real photographer, because I am not. It is a hobby. a hobby which I am lucky enough to be pretty good at. Or perhaps it is the fact that the camera is so darn easy to use, that makes my photos come out right. I haven't figured that part out yet. Either way, I WANT to be a photographer, and I WANT to learn, to get better, and to master the arts.

I have previosly been a Photoshop junkie, and have done some work in there, mostly photomanipulations and abstract art. Now that I can combine my skills of the program with the photos I take, I hope to be able to get somewhere. I am not expecting fame, nor to be able to make a living out of what I do. But, I want to feel, that I am an artist, that what I accomplish on my computer - with the building blocks that I now provide myself - is something that I can be proud of, that I can call Art.
