Thanks for your comments on my Bridge picture.

You're right about the sharpness. The original is much sharper. Your comment has prompted me to find out how to reduce the image size for the web and keep sharper edges.

I tried bringing out the detail in the shadows with the Photoshop curves tool. There's a lot of detail there but seeing it makes the image less dramatic, so I've actually darkened the shadows a bit. Is this what you meant, or were you thinking of adding a more artificial light effect with Photoshop?
