Black-tailed Godwit

The black-tailed godwit is a rare and elegant wading bird with a long straight beak that breeds in fens, lake edges, damp meadows and bogs.
Can be found all over Europe and some areas of central Asia.

Although this species is classified as threatened, black-tailed godwits may still be hunted in France with 6000 to 8000 birds estimated to be killed annual !!!

Dutch name : Grutto
German name : Uferschnepfe
Latin name : Limosa limosa limosa

***

Shot was made with a 1450mm lens (600mm + 2,4x extender) which was necessary because the bird was about 200 meters away (and I could not get closer because of a fence).
Next time I hope for a closer encounter :-))
