Matchu Pitchou 3

Peru Matchou Picchou
Matchou Picchou was the capital of the Incas empire that thrived from 1200 to 1550. It was located on the Andes mountain range at an altitude of about 2500m.The Incas developped an outstanding civilization, were loaded with tons of gold and silver but they were poorly armed and ignored the horse!.. So, eventually they have been easily conquered and their kingdom destroyed by the conquistadores and the cruel Pizzaro at around 1530.Pizzaro and his men fully armed, also with canons, and on horseback massacred thousands of natives that they had gone with their leader to welcome them. In front of Pizzaro men were marching priests propagating the Christian fate..
The ruins of Matchu Picchou remained unknown and hidden till 1911 when the American archaeologist Hirram Bingham, excavating the Cusco area fell upon the miraculous site of Matchu Picchou.
(The photos of Matchou Picchou were taken in Velvia and Provia slides and then scanned to digitals)

It's good that your pictures are always accompanied by a story about the place where they were done! It is so interesting together!
The second advantage is in b / w editing! Color distracting :-)
I like your travels and illustrations to them Alexander!
    Regards
    Tania
