Honduras

The Republic of Honduras is a country in Central America, and the biggest exporter of bananas in the world.

Honduras is situated on the widest section of the Middle American continental bridge, bordering the Caribbean Sea between Guatemala and Nicaragua, and the North Pacific Ocean between El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Its capital is Tegucigalpa.

The Garifuna (original inhabitants) are relatively new to the Cayos Cohinos and Islas de la Bahia regions.

Right behind Haiti, Honduras counts as one of the poorest countries in Central America, with 71.6% of the population living below the poverty threshold.
