Nahuel Huapi N.P.

The Nahuel Huapi N.P. is one of oldest of Argentina, it was founded in 1934. The national park extends on a length of 130 km along the Argentine-Chilean border and covers a surface 7099 km ². He is stamped by high mountains, a lot of lakes and expanded forests.

The lake of the same name Nahuel Huapi is with a surface of 531 km ² and a depth of 460 m the largest lake of this national park. According to some eye-witnesses, as well as the local resident Indians a plesiosaurier kind of monster, the Nahuelito lives in the lake.

The most important city on the banks of the Nahuel Huapi is San Carlos de Bariloche, a center of the Argentine tourism. Close to the citty is an famous skiing area, the Cerro Catedral and is beside Buenos Aires the most visited city of Argentina!

Der Nationalpark erstreckt sich auf einer Länge von 130 Km entlang der argentinisch-chilenischen Grenze und umfasst eine Fläche 7099 Km². Er ist geprägt von hohen Bergen, einer Vielzahl von Seen und ausgedehnten Wäldern.

Der gleichnamige See Nahuel Huapi ist mit einer Fläche von 531 km² und einer Tiefe von 460 m der größte See dieses Nationalparks. Laut einigen Augenzeugen, sowie den ortsansässigen Indios lebt in dem See ein plesiosaurierartiges Ungeheuer, der Nahuelito.

Die wichtigste Stadt an den Ufern des Nahuel Huapi ist San Carlos de Bariloche, ein Zentrum des argentinischen Tourismus. In der Nähe der Stadt liegt ein bedeutendes Skigebiet, der Cerro Catedral und ist neben Buenos Aires die meist besuchte Stadt Argentiniens!
