A View from the Rothorn
There are a number of mountains named Rothorn in Switzerland. The Parpaner Rothorn towers above Lenzerheide/Valbella in Canton Graubünden. One steps off the second stage of the two-stage cable car ascent at an altitude of 2,865 meters/9,399 feet to enjoy some thrilling panoramas.
This view looks down to the Heidsee, a lovely lake in Lenzerheide, on a photo-perfect autumn afternoon in 2011.

Of course, there are more, shall we say, dramatic ways to at least take leave of the Rothorn after a visit than the cable car ;-)

wow, the sense of depth – amazing! – and the look down the dangling abyss ; ) – absolutely breathtaking! the landscape in the valley, with the puddle-sized lakes looks almost unreal, like a painted canvas added to perfect the scenic ambience of the swiss mountain idyll! i guess you need to be a person trusting steel wires and seilbahnen to go for a ride UP! ; ) greetings, sabine.Sascha D Simon 17/02/2013 20:44
