Der Abschied vom Gletscher fiel mir schwer, aus einem undefinierten Grund heraus hätte ich noch lange dort bleiben können.

Gerade im Abendlicht sah das strahlend blaue, zum Teil glasklare Eis besonders Eindrucksvoll aus.

It was hard to say goodbye to the glacier, for some undefined reason I could have stayed there for a long time.

The bright blue, sometimes crystal-clear ice looked particularly impressive in the evening light.
