While all colours have almost disappeared out of nature at the present time of the year, this Ginkgo (also known as maidenhair tree) shows its last yellow leaves at the border of a lake.

Dutch name : Japanse Notenboom
German name : Ginkgobaum
Latin name : Ginkgo biloba

Interesting to know : in Hiroshima, Japan, 6 ginkgos growing at a distance between 1–2 kilometres from the 1945 atom bomb explosion were among the only living things in the area surviving the blast. Although all humans, plants and animals in the area were killed, those trees, though charred, survived and were soon healthy again !
These 6 ginkgos are still alive today !
