Back Alley Blues (1)
Downtown and many areas in the older part of Vancouver have back alleys running behind the houses. Here are the garages, the power and telephone lines, here is the garbage pick-up and the delivery of goods for the stores, here the kids can play away from big traffic. I find these alleys a never-ending opportunity to shoot pictures - will show you a few in the next couple of days.
This alley runs between Broadway and 8th Avenue near Main Street.

Yes, that is a good area for playing in, safe from traffic as you say and good walls to keep a ball from rolling away! I like the pretty painting on the wall. Very jolly!Regards

It is interesting to see also the dark side alleys and backyards.It looks very friendly, not like a back alley.
Certainly children can play there without constant worry.
Probably they painted the walls?
