Balnuaran of Clava
Tombs for the ancestors played an important part in the life of early prehistoric farming communities. One special group of tombs, concentraded in nothern Inverness-Shire, has been named "Clava Cairns", because the two types of cairn in the group - "ring cairn" and "passage-graves" - are represented here.
