This is an experiment. I am aware that the photo is not very well composed and not perfectly sharp.

Some black an white butterflies provide a great challenge to photographers. Trauermantel, N. antiopa is the worst. They are either too light or too dark. I have yet to see a correctly exposed picture of that species, so Im carrying out some experiments to be ready for the Trauermantel when it comes out in spring.

I set my camera on bracketing 1 step and took 2 photos from a tripod.
1st... Iso 200, a 13, s 0,5
2nd...Iso 200, a 13, s 0,63

They vere merged together with HDR in Photomatrix. The idea was to have shades in the lighter areas and also tones in the shadows.
