Castlechurch
Szentendre was considered the center of the Hungarian Serb community since the 1500s. At one point it had as many as eight Serbian Orthodox church buildings and 3 chapels, and only one each Roman-Catholic and Evangelical.
This is the only Roman-Catholic one. It was originally built between 1241-1283. In 1283 it was destroyed along with the whole settlement. It was rebuilt in the 14th century in Gothic style.
