Central Park Summer Impression

Once upon a time, on a summer afternoon in Central Park...

Know what's different, besides the impressionistic treatment?

The Savoy Plaza Hotel (third tall building from the left) had not yet met the wrecker's ball.
The distinctive structure at 5th and 59th would soon be replaced along the Fifth Avenue
Central Park skyline by the modern monolithic mass of the GM Building.

As to the Grande Dame hotels that ARE still part of the skyline: That's the Pierre rising above the trees
on the left, the Sherry Netherland in the center, and peeking through the trees on the right, The Plaza.

As the original of this scene, captured on an old Ektachrome, "rediscovered" while scanning long-unviewed slides, no longer
exists in reality, I followed the "Digital Muse" with the desire to depict a New York moment that lives on in romantic reverie.

...as I wrote as a title for a totally different pic:
Threatening skies, in this place for the Savoy Plaza...
Though on can be of different mind s as to the style and architecture, one thing´s for sure: There won´t be a more tasteful successor!
For my taste, the sky´s just a bit exaggerating while the rest stays a bit too "normal", but all in all it meets what you intended!
