well, you need to realize the mentality of Afghan women...It is a shame for muslim women to be seen close to or around a foreigner....you can't talk to an afghan woman...so, to a certain extend there is a factor of shame involved...living here you get the feeling that most of the local population despises foreigners....in their point of view foreigners are evil....so there's also a factor of fear involved...mostly applies for women...
but yeah, the quality of the photo is not the best...
i couldn't come closer on her because i don't kno how the people gonna react...locals aren't happy when they're being photographed...so took a quick shot and kept going...

Nice shot, although I doubt if the word "shame" is apt - for she may merely have been shy or timid. It's shame you either cropped out, or missed, her feet, and I would have come in closer on her and cropped the top tighter. But it remains an interesting photo. Well done.
