Inside the Tenganan village

Community house in the Bali Aga village where young people also can get married. But there are strickt rules what makes not easy the life of the Bali Aga people:

People here can’t marry anyone from outside the village. They actually can, but in this case, they lose the right to participate in the ceremonies, vote, or get a part of the village’s income. So, it’s easier to marry within the village than face the humiliation of being excluded. Every day the six leaders of Tenganan, including Pak Putu, gather to discuss the village management and preparation for the ceremonies.

    Solche Gemeinschaftshäuser haben wir auf Bali einige gesehen - nicht selten im Inneren von Tempelanlagen.

    ...ein schöner Ort wo man die Bali Aga noch bewundern kann....ich kann mich gut an dieses alten Holzkarussell erinnern...es sah schon etwas vorsintflutlich aus...aber immerhin ...es war ein Karussell...tolle Handwerksarbeiten verrichten sie...man kann gut einkaufen dort...VLG Benita
