You don't need a good camera to take a good photo.
You need a good "eye" to visualize in your mind, what you want to portray.
Even with an inexpensive one time use camera, and knowing where to position your light, you can take a great photo.
What kind of camera do you have ? film ? or digital ?
What kind of light did you use to take this photo ?
What country are you from ?
And last, Do you want me to help you to become a better photographer ? :-)
This photo would be much better if you got your whole face into the scene, and didn't use as much light on it.
It looks like your face was overexposed.
