Lacplesa Diena is celebrated on November 11. This day is a Latvian Freedom Fighters’ Remembrance Day. It's a very important day for Latvians because on this day 1919, the Latvian Army won a fierce battle against Russian forces, which had taken up arms against the country. This victory over Bermont-Avalov was significant in the birth of Latvia as an independent nation. This victory marked the conclusion of the Latvian War of Liberation.
