Macro of British soldier lichen (Cladonia cristatella) with amazing red fungus heads
Getting focus, (natural) light, display window and depth of field in a good balance was quite challenging, particularly as sun hits this spot only during approximately one hour of the day and you're always about to cast a cloud over the motif with your camera and head respectively. Hopefully, you agree that the photographer finally succeeded.

Nachdem ich hier eindeutig Soredien sehe (grünliche Punkte) auf den roten Apothecien, schließe ich C. cristatella aus: Diese ist nicht sorediös. Daraus schließe ich, dass Dein Fund aus Europa stammt.mfg Ulrich
P.S. Die Mühe hat sich auch für mich gelohnt: Ich habe eine für mich neue Art kennen gelernt (wenn auch nur in der Literatur). Sollte ich also noch einmal nach N-Amerika kommen, so weiß ich, dass man dort neben C. macilenta eine sehr ähnliche Art finden kann.
