Das ist mein Lieblingsfoto von Matheran in den Sayadhri Mountains der indischen Western Ghats. Der Ort liegt 800m hoch, und man könnte meinen in Arizona zu sein. Auf und an den Tafelbergen gibt es sehr viel Dschungel, in dem auch noch eine kleine Pumaart lebt, die sehr scheu ist. Auch der seltene blaue, indische Pfau ist dort hin und wieder zu sehen, aber dafür reichlich Affen und Kleingetier.
Ich wohnte in einer alten, englischen Lodge, die von einer Farsi-Frau und Familie geleitet wurde. Klasse Service bei niedrigen Preisen. Ich habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt, zumal mir mein Essen mehr europäisch gewürzt wurde. / This is my favorite photo of Matheran in the Sayadhri Mountains the Indian western Ghats. Also the rare blue, Indian peacock is to be seen there every now and then, but for it richly monkeys and small creatures.
I lived in an old, English Lodge which was escorted by a Farsi woman and family. First-class service with low prices. I have felt there very well, particularly as to me my food was spiced more European.
