Monastery of Panayia Kipina

The monastery of Panayia Kipina is an old Byzantine built in the 13th century.
It is entirely engraved on the rock above a steep slope and it is one of the most impressive monasteries in Epirus and Greece. During the time of Turkish occupation and War of Independance was the hide out of many Greek fighters.
From the monastery an impressive view extends on the valley... At the far end of the road one can see the bend of the previous photo in the series.
