QueensScape No.9 - Astoria Line at Ditmars Boulevard

This N train of the New York City Subway system has just arrived at its final
destination on the Astoria Line, Ditmars Boulevard in the Astoria section of Queens.

The silvery flanks of the New Technology R160 railcars in this ten-car consist gleam in the brilliant
September sunshine, as they await their return (downtown) trip into Manhattan and on into Brooklyn.

The Astoria Line runs on elevated structures such as this one for its entire route in Queens.
The bridge seen just above the station carries Amtrak Northeast Corridor trains on their route
between New York and Boston on their way to and from the Hell Gate Bridge over the East River.
