Steam crane, Saharanpur
Contrary to China (see previous picture), the Indian steam locomotives sheds were fascinating places where days could be spent taking pictures practically non-stop.
The most important depots were haunted by some very strange steam cranes of various sizes, which were used to coal the locomotives and move heavy parts around. This is the three-axles self-moving crane of Saharanpur shed, Northern Railway.
