The House In The Lake. Lake Kerkini.

This lake was once dry land. The area was flooded many years ago to provide water for agriculture resulting in the relocation of whole villages. When the water is low during summer some of the old buildings come into view again. The old house in this photo has since collapsed. The lake in Serres N.Greece ( Macedonia) attracts the most diverse, aquatic wildlife anywhere in Europe. Bird watchers and photographers from all over the world visit the area every year.
