The Living Forest (325) : Hedge Bindweed
Hedge Bindweed is an attractive plant, with showy trumpet-shaped flowers, that twines around other plants, always in a counter-clockwise direction.
The flowers are produced from late spring until the end of summer.
The visitor on the flower is Hystricia abrupta (Tachina fly)
Just like its brother, the Field Bindweed (see picture below), Hedge Bindweed is considered as an agricultural pest by farmers.
Dutch name : Haagwinde
German name : Echte Zaunwinde
Latin name : Calystegia sepium (prev. Convolvulus sepium)

Hedge Bindweed, I had not known.Photographically implemented excellently, in a magnificent light. The fly is a nice contrast, although she is not very pretty ;))
