To Good Hope cape

Cape Town
on the way to cape Good Hope
Travelling from Cape Town to the southest tip of the African continent, the Good Hope cape, one experiences sudden and most bizarre environmental changes regarding the shore line as much as the inland of the peninsula. The most fascinating are those along the shore with stretching areas covered with all kind of pebbles, sand and seaweeds washed out from an almost eternally agitated and frothy sea that extends sight to the deepest end of an horizon covered by colorful and most diverse cloud formations. On the way there are rocks, not very far from the shore, where nest seagulls, cormorans and sea lions and in various well protected rocky recesses, penguin colonies. Occasionally, deeper in the sea, a well trained and expert eye- definitely not mine- could spot the dark bulk of a surfacing whale....

This one of your Cape series is a fine example of how things are there. Ever changing weather scenarios even in summer. In other months you literally can have four seasons in a day. I like the Cape Point Nature Reserve very much and have done many of the lovely hiking trails there which lead you to fantastic places, as I spend some of our european winter time with my wife there on a quite regular basis.A very fine landscape photo from you, dear Alexander.
all the best
