Ella Gibbins

I am 17 and more of a film maker than a photographer. I started to get into it because my mum couldn't be bothered reading the manuel for the video camera, so I basically learnt how to use it at a very young age, I developed my skills and am where I am now: sitting in front of the computer. I am putting in some of my still shots from my films though. I don't really have "themes" for my films but I have a friend who says that my form of film making is "sunset-a-tography" because I tend to film sunsets, this is not true, they are sunrises, but suns coming out of the ground all the same... I also need to mention my video camera is a Panasonic 3CCD handycam, I love it to pieces and have almost lost it thrice after dangling it over a 50 metre cliff edge, getting an "under the sand dune" shot and "close up of the water rushing onto the beach" (the latter of which I strongly advise against). I love filming and as a result my camera goes around with me everywhere and I have a myriad of cools shots on the waiting list. I guess I have a connection with still photography in the sense that I try to make each shot I shoot good enough to be a photo by itself, so I guess my style of cinematography is "moving photographs."
