Upcoming photographs from my first trip to Vietnam, more countries will follow, at least one per year. Next trips may lead me to other countries in Asia and Middle- and Southamerica. I am a freshly baked biologist / odonatologist (MSc.), so the background of my photographies is a scientific one, but I am also much into the creative and spiritual side of odonates and how our lives are connected. We can learn so much from these beautiful creatures. I am trying to raise awareness, mindfullness and love towards these wonderful animals, to protect them for future generations. Odonates are an essential part of our ecosystems, suffering from deforestation, pollution, destruction of the heterogenous habitats they are dependent to. Extreme weather events due to climate change are also a recent danger. Many species are declining, some are already facing extinction.

I want to contribute a small part by writing and talking about my passion, also visually by showing them to the world through my lens, my way of taking photographs. Because I want to come as close to them as possible, to maximise the intensity of single encounters instead of taking many pictures from the far.

Travelling through different countries is something I love with all of my heart. Exploring new destinations, habitats, species. Feeling the energy of rainforests, streams, lakes, feeling deeply connected to nature with all senses. Spirituality, meditation, culture, connecting to native people, be open minded, spontaneous and brave, cuddling every dog I see, enjoing every authentic coffee and food I will find along my way.

I am thankful. I am loving. I am a traveller, trying to get closer to my inner centre, my peace, closer to what I truly am and want to be. One step after the other. Little steps with every trip, reaching out for feeling the love that I am made of and to share it with others.

I am thankful for being alive.

Let us flow with life, whereever it may lead us. Let us grow. Let us enfold.
