70 metre long reclining Buddha in Yangon Myanmar. Story within.
Hello all my friends out there in cyber space.
Whilst on the subject of Buddha's, here is another large one, this one is 70 metres long.
It is located downtown Yangon Myanmar at the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda's with it's faded colonial atmosphere.
The distinguishing marks on the soles of the Buddha.
There are a hundred and eight distinguishing marks on both soles of the Buddha.
They represent the three worlds, but this is a complete story which I shall write about later.
Yangon has been the capital of Myanmar since the middle of the 19th century when
the British transformed it into their administrative centre of Further India.
It's impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one
of the most fascinating capitals of South East Asia.
Our thank goes out once more, to our mate, FC member Thu Nyo, who took a days leave to take
us around to visit this amazing Buddha.
Be blessed all of you!!

Love your perspective here, John. Isn't it curious that all the toe patterns are whorls?Aloha

A super pic of this great golden lying man. I walked along himin 1969 and I tickeld him under the sole of his foots. Sorry, I think it was forbidden. It doesnt matter. Nobody had seen this spectacle
Have a good trip and take care.
