To Laki - I´m with You in some aspects.
I think this picture is about WW II, presumably showing victims of d-day. That was definitily about freedom - and the world would be much different if those servicemen hadn´t made their sacrifice.
a very emotional and dramatic picture, great capture!

p.s. @danny, i just wanted to state that i cant agree in what you said about "Alot of countries aren't pleased with us as a nation, because of our dedication to freedom" this is simply not true, the reason why lots of nations are not happy with the goverment of the usa is not their dedication to freedom, but unhappy about turning lies into truth to hide the real reasons to fight some countries. maybe this link will make you see it a bit different: http://theunitedamerican.blogs.com/Movies/2000A/2000.html
This is not a quiet picture. There is much drama and life in there through contrast and clouds. It is as if in a very loud voice someone reads their names - very good picture !
Thank you John, for posting a photo that simbolizes the great price of freedom. Being American as I am, it pleses me to see that your country has preserved this place well. Alot of countries aren't pleased with us as a nation, because of our dedication to freedom. To some this is just an awesome photo, to me it's America at its best, helping others no matter the cost.

gorgeous photo exept fot the topic which is very sad, but you have captured it nicely.
