Ara Pacis Red

Rome's Ara Pacis complex, with an exhibition of Henri Cartier-Bresson taking place inside, offered several possibilities for humorous street shots.

What a wonderful comment, Christos. I totally agree. I'm not one to go "create" the image in post-production, but at the same time I'm dumbfounded when I hear people talk dearly about always publishing "straight from camera". It is my opinion that if you exclusively publish from cam, then the photo is by and the camera brand. I believe (and I repeat, "believe" as I'll hardly claim to be in possession of any kind of Truth) what I desire to do is to give the viewer a sense of the sensorial experience I had the moment I decided to press the shutter button. If that means printing and hand painting on the print, well, I respect that. As long as the goal remains creating a situation in which emotions can be shared (as by viewing a photo), in which what is in the photo flows as freely as possible, then we as photographers have done an honest job.

Hehe, that was my attempt at "thinking about photography", or at least one aspect of it. Thank you for thinking with me, Christos!

Reuven, certainly not overdo regarding contrast and color because as I personally believe an "artistic" point of view in a photograph is not a perfect depiction of reality. We need many times to give personal opinion on what touched us to photograph.
    Cordially greetings, Christos

Thank you so much, Christos. Hope I didn't go overboard on it, though it was pretty much the actual conditions. Truly appreciate it!

Tremendous photo, Reuven! Love those powerful colours and hard contrasts and its wide-angle effect.
