The yellow gorse bushes are an untidy feature. And, the yellow fields of rape (grown for rape-seed oil) would not have been seen anywhere in england 30 or 40 years ago. They are a relatively recent feature. When the sun is shining , the yellow fields appear super-bright, and are a bit of a distraction in the landscape. I am, at best, neutral about rape. Marlis - you are in a bit of a minority - if you are a fan of the rape fields.

Very nice composition. I wonder, why people don't like the yellow fields? I love them, as well as your photos of them. It's just a challenge for photographers to catch them from the right viewpoint and in the right light.

You chose the perfect place to respond :-)
    Thank you very much!

Thankyou. You are right. It is a kind of broom. In northern england and scotland it is called gorse. personally - I do not like the gorse bushes. And - the fields of yellow rape (in a couple of other recent pictures), are quite contentious. The yellow fields jar with the conventional shades of green and brown. Most people do not like the yellow fields. However - it is reality - and you cannot ignore them mark. By the way - I am not sure whether I am supposed to respond to comments here - on the picture page - or on the commentator's own site.

This is my personal favorite. I like the little creek meandering through the hills, the yellow spots of broom (I guess). Well composed landscape photography.
