Calf of Highland cattle

Highland cattle are known as a hardy breed of cattle and can adapt trouble free to extreme icy cold temperatures in winter.

Highland cattle do not need any human help with calving, must never be milked and find enough food all year long so that supplementary feeding is not necessary.

Giving birth often happens in the midst of winter.
My shot shows a new born calf, about 3 weeks old.
