Chilean Tarantula
My neighbour, who is a worker in the international port of Antwerp (Belgium), found this spider between a load of bananas from Ecuador.
The spider with a length of 15 cm (!) was captured and is now safely kept in a temporary terrarium by my neighbour.
Later the spider will be transferred to the Antwerp Zoo.
It’s a Chilean tarantula.
A bite of this spider is probably mild. However, there is no scientific research confirming this….. !

German name : Graue Chile Vogelspinne
Latin name : Grammostola porteri
