: )) i'm smiling at the ingenious whimsical title! true organic farmers made a decision at one point in their lives to stand out against the majority, to break with the norms of conservative agriculture, to do what they think is better, healthier, more sustainable in terms of both us, the people, and our planet. so in a sense, they're counter-(agri-)culturists! ; ) the little shitake here is a counterculturist, too! michigan: oh, so far from his asian home! but so convenient, too. they provide the perfect wood, where it can settle and grow, just grow: civilized and without a worry in the world, not having to rely on trees to rot and fall! so, ironically enough, in its case, the case of the shitake, counterculture means easy living, but what the heck: opportunism is… letting opportunity in when it knocks! ; )) – – beautifully composed, david! the slight tilt of the cap – it makes the little fungus look strangely happy! ; ) greetings, sabine.
