I have walked many times on such a wintery carpet in forests and what I strongly remember is the cracking noise of the footsteps and how they characteristically "echo" disturbing the deep silence of the wintery forest.
Excellent contrasty shot against the filtering light.

no pines here, and the tree top's are well out of sight, too, but the atmosphere is one of glorious anticipation: something in the bright silver light lingering on the dried leaves, something about the view through the trunks… yes, there's definitely drama in the air. something magical is about happen! may it be good, because there's also a touch of "sinisterness" in the mood… but speaking of sinister: knecht ruprecht isn't the nicest fellow either, is he?! at least in the poem he isn't! impressively captured and presented, adele! hugs, sabine.
