Steve, I have just listened to your podcast "Douane Street". You have described Tribeca in such a vivid way that I myself felt the wonderful warmth of the late afternoon sun on my skin and got an idea about the fascination of your time in Tribeca. I even felt myself bouncing in my step while walking the two blocks. Seems as if I just have experienced my personal "theater of mind" ;-).
To intensify this vivid feeling of "just strolling along" with you on that special afternoon, I not only additionally read your blog (to make sure to fill in everything I did miss while listening to your podcast), but looked again at your photos from your Tribeca series. They are a fantastic completion to your podcast (or vice versa). Especially as they transfer your intensive spirit from these moments directly to the beholder´s heart. Looking at your photos is like having been on-site with you and having been allowed to monitor the scene for a moment with your eyes. If you had in mind to inspire fellow photographers or interested people to accompany you imaginary on your Tribeca-expedition, you have met your target. Tribeca must be a wonderful place to stroll along, to experience and to discover from a photographical point of view. Your podcast and your photos already displayed in FC have aroused my curiosity to learn more about this part of New York. I really hope you will display some more photos from your Tribeca-afternoon.
After spending some time with your Tribeca expedition finally there remain two questions unsettled. I wonder at your tripod, Steve. Have you just carried it around for your low light photography in the evening or did you use it already in your afternoon-photography? And I wonder why you weren´t hit by a car when "balancing in the middle of a street" ??
