Frontal light is bleaching out the important detail in this relic. For recording artifacts such as this, diffused (filtered) lights are traditionally placed at 45 degree angles to each side for equal and balanced illumination. This is done to record all the important carvings, heiroglyphics and surface textures to help in documenting such an important object. You may have had reasons for the flash lighting that I am not aware of, but even a couple of lamps with daylight bulbs placed would bring out more detail through greater contrast. This is a fabulous piece and deserves proper documentation.
