I found this old man on a field trip to Kaabong district, uttermost north-east Uganda.

Since I was too weak, to walk around anymore (just had started treatment against f***ing Brucellosis)

so I stayed near the truck and chatted with the people around.
You do not see many old people in Uganda. More than 50% of the population is younger than 16yrs.
wars, diseases, hunger... one does not get old here...

The gap in the line of teeth is very common.
It is a prevention to die of hunger or thirst when infected with tetanus.
One is not able to move the jaws so people simply die
because they cannot drink any water.
But with that missing tooth one can give food, water and medicine...
