Gelbstirnige Dolchwespe, rotstirnige Form Scolia flavifrons III

Mit bis zu 6 cm Körperlänge die größte Wespe Europas. Sie interessiert sich, wie die Hornisse, eher nicht für Menschen. Diese rotköpfigen Riesenwespen habe ich auf auf Rhodos entdeckt. Merkwürdigerweise sind die als Pflanzenbestäuber tätig. Sie sind ca. doppelt so groß wie unsere Hornissen.
