Golden Temple at Gandan Monastery
Inside the area of the Gandan temple complex in Ulaan Baatar.
Named in Mongolia the Tsogchin Dugan temple was built in 1838 by Lama Buddhist society.
The temple is among the buildings in the Gandan Monastery complex in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar.
Gandan Monastery has flourished since the end of Communist rule in Mongolia in 1990. Due Russian influence tried to abolish all the Buddhis religion and ideology in Mongolia 1919 - 1939.
Mongolia sought Russian aid to allay fears of Chinese expansionism and a large number of Soviet forces were permanently deployed in Mongolia.
