Happy Chinese New Year ..... and this is the big head of a Chinese Lion Dance costume ...
The Lion Dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals.
The Year of the Dog has just started in Chinese cultures .... New Years is celebrated big in Vancouver with festivals, parades etc. etc. The Lion Dance will be performed tomorrow by several groups of dancers in their traditional ceremonies in Chinatown ...
