The Historical Center of Oporto is themost ancient area of the city of Oporto,classified like Cultural Inheritance of theHumanity from 1996. In spite of the whole evolution andchanges that along the times happenedin the Historical Center of Oporto, stilltoday the observation of the urbane setthat is supported in the old medievalhoof provides an image of coherenceand of homogeneity. It suggestsimmutability and permanence in thetime, constituting so the only exampleof a gifted urbane scenery of identity,strong character and esthetic quality.

Centro Histórico do Porto

O Centro Histórico do Porto é a área mais antiga da cidade do Porto, classificado como Património Cultural da Humanidade desde 1996. Corresponde ao tecido urbano marcado pelas origens medievais da cidade e inclui territórios situados nas freguesias da Sé, de São Nicolau, da Vitória e de Miragaia.
Apesar de toda a evolução e mutações que ao longo dos tempos se deram no Centro Histórico do Porto, ainda hoje a observação do conjunto urbano que se apoia no velho casco medieval proporciona uma imagem de coerência e de homogeneidade. Sugere imutabilidade e permanência no tempo, constituindo assim um exemplar único de uma paisagem urbana dotada de identidade, forte carácter e qualidade estética.
