James Cook´s View
Blick nach Nord-Westen vom Aussichts-Punkt bei Cooktown, Nord-Queensland.
Auszug aus dem Logbuch von James Cook:
18 June 1770
I climbed one of the highest hills, that overlooked the harbour which offered by no means a comfortable prospect. The lowland near the river is wholly overrun with mangroves, among which salt water flows every tide, and the highland appeared every-where stony and barren. In the meantime Mr. Banks had also taken a walk up country and met with the frame of several old indian houses and places where they had dressed shell-fish.

Eine herrliche Übersicht, Martin! So weit im Norden war ich damals leider nicht! Toll auch der Auszug aus dem Logbuch; macht die gesamte Präsentation noch authentischer!Gruß Wolfgang
