Lionfish not much liked
While diving off the coast of Nusa Penida, I expected to see lots of surgeonfish and angelfish. Instead, on almost every dive I saw lionfish, which are usually not native to the waters of Bali and the neighboring islands. Sometimes up to twenty specimens during a dive. But beware! The rays of the dorsal fin of these elegant fish contain a powerful poison that can be very painful and deadly.
The fish is a prime example of the natural spread of a species that likes to travel. The fatal thing about the “lionfish invasion”: They displace other native fish species.

So einen habe ich auch schon mal in Sri Lanka und in Kenia beim Tauchen gesehen und gleich einen großen Bogen drum gemacht.LG, Herbert.
