After a tour of the tanneries - you kindly get a few mint twigs to make the smell more bearable - you get to contemplate all of it from above.

The light was extremely bright, I think I overexposed the photos despite carefully metering.

    zuerst dachte ich, es sieht aus wie ein großer überdimensionierter Farbkasten...
    und das ist es ja auch - Gerberei und Färberei.

    Not sure I agree with your concerns over overexposing the scene, Greg. You, your lens, and the Portra were, I think, successful in capturing this great - if "fragrant" - tapestry of textures.
