Mount Vernon United Methodist Church - A Baltimore Impression
Completed in 1872, the church is part of Baltimore’s Mount Vernon Historic District.
The adjacent building is Asbury House, named after Francis Asbury, the first American Methodist bishop.
The church occupies the northeast corner of Mount Vernon Place, where inviting greenswards
extend to the north, east, south, and west to surround Baltimore's Washington Monument. (*)
Nearby are the The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University including its music and dance
conservatories and library, the Walters Art Gallery and other venues of culture and entertainment,
along with restaurants and other attractions.
