Naga in A Cloud of Holy Smoke
During the Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. I wasn't interested in the special of seeing a bunch of nude men swaggering their willies for the camera. I wanted to explore more of their culture the night before the big group weenie washing party in the Ganga river for the media.
As it turns out one of these smoking heads turned their tenet down and died a few days later. WHen shooting these holy men its always best to be up wind or in the non smoke cloud spot in the tent. Smile but don't stay and above all don't inhale. Should you. Well you might think your' on an elephant as a Indian deity.,and without you real knowing, stripping down and painting your body blue and powdering ash all over your self from cremation ashes.
I hope this series takes you on a spiritual high journey just i the seeing of the other side of the Holy man when he's not in front of the masses of pilgrims that kiss his feet in owner of him asking for blessings to right their wrongs and and to easy the struggle to achieve a better life for family and self.
The enlightenment of smoke is apart of their way.
