On the farm (17) : Ardennes Draft Horse
This is an Ardennes draft horse foal (also known as Ardenner).
It’s a world famous Belgian draft horse breed and is the ancestor of most draft horses in Europe.
The animal was and is primarily and historically bred in the region of the abundant forested Belgian Ardennes (a low mountain range), hence its name.
In the shot below, you can see a portrait of an adult stallion of this horse breed.
