Once a Corner Grocery Store (4)

now a Bistro and Barber Shop (on Cambie Street)
...... get a hair and beard-trim, then have one of the good beers and a meal - they are both very tasty here :-))

before supermarkets Vancouver had many, many little corner grocery stores in every neighbourhood (the entrance door being on the corner) .... some still remain, but many have been converted to other stores, cafes, art galleries and living quarters - I love them as they take away from the impersonality of the big stores

Great composition with the traffic lights.

Tolle Bildkomposition. Ich mag das Motiv, diese Farben der Fassade und des Ampelmasts.

Yes you're on a simular track, documenting what has gone ....

I don't know about you but I do't want someone else's dandruff or hair landing in my plate. And besides this must be a girl think. What man sits around the barbershop and has serious cut throat female complaint conversations in a humorous manner that depicts the little clown in all women on some level. Why would any guy come to conflict with that behind food which goes untouched in a manly shoot the bull about the woman that order lobster when she clearly knew he didn't have that much money in his pocket. Oh I for got. A Canadian man might like the mix, but change the subject to fishing and a ferry to the islands near by while sharing an old vinyl 45 record of Dianne Ross to a woman that is an engineer over hot coco and maple syrup pancakes..( You know )..As for the gender bender concept for the mens pit and bitch stop. I say change it back before all men keep the one thing that bonds us all.Incase Women don't know, its yesterdays socks,a gym in the closet that's been sitting there in the dark. Las and most important is the disgruntlement of women. :))))))) Love the concept and the shot. It's all a hoot and which it had Hooters on the sign. That would at least insure a good hot fast meal and some daisy dukes.

I really love these colorful barber shops in little streets, strong reminders of my childhood, with the barber continually gossiping behind your ear while..tapping your face with all sort of cheap fragrancies! And then, why not a special "Mort subite" in the pub next door!...
    best regards alexander

"barber shop" sounds pleasantly nostalgic! in fact, it has a simple and down-to-earth ring to it, reminiscing the heyday of the corner store, when time seemed to pass a little slower and wasn't all money but also eye-to-eye chat and sensuous analog shopping… ; ) great shot again, adele! so many (former) corner stores in vancouver!! hugs, sabine. p.s.: as beer is also supposed to be good for your hair, i suggest a joint venture here… ; ))

Allerdings ist belgisches Bier nicht dem deutschen Reinheitsgebot unterworfen. Also, Chemie läßt grüßen. Aber wenn man Durst hat, was soll man machen. Klasse Foto.

Very interesting research on this your business on a human scale.
An alleged is erasing the progress, but their demise is a great loss to society.
    All the best,
    Carlo
